Fertility Preservation Program
Neovita IVF’s Fertility Preservation Program is tailored to meet the reproductive needs of individuals looking to store their oocytes (eggs), embryos, or sperm for future use
For individuals undergoing cancer treatment, the diagnosis and treatment process can be overwhelming. Preserving your eggs or sperm samples before starting cancer treatment can help you feel more comfortable and better prepared for the future. Learning about fertility preservation before beginning cancer treatment can empower you to make an informed decision
FERTILITY PRESERVATION FOR WOMEN
Embryo Cryopreservation:
This procedure involves harvesting eggs, fertilizing them, and then freezing them for future use. These embryos can later be thawed and transferred into the uterus for implantation. Research indicates that embryos can survive the freezing and thawing process with up to 90% success.
Egg Freezing (Oocyte Cryopreservation):
In this procedure, your unfertilized eggs are harvested and frozen. Unlike human embryos, human eggs do not survive the freezing process as well.
At What Age Should You Freeze Your Eggs?
Fertility begins to decline after the age of thirty and significantly decreases after forty. The optimal time to freeze your eggs is in your late twenties. However, it is still possible to freeze eggs between the ages of thirty and thirty-five.
Understanding Infertility Treatment
Infertility refers to the inability to conceive a child naturally, posing a challenge for both men and women to become parents. A September 2020 study by the World Health Organization revealed that approximately 48 million couples and 186 million individuals are affected by this reproductive health issue.
Causes of Infertility
Infertility often catches couples unaware until they’ve been trying to conceive naturally for six months to a year without success. There are various factors contributing to both male and female infertility.
Common causes include
- Ageing (for females, typically after 35, and for males, around 40 or older)
- Unhealthy lifestyle habits including smoking, excessive drinking, poor diet, lack of physical activity, and high stress levels
- Environmental and occupational factors such as prolonged exposure to extreme heat, chemicals, and pollution
- Medical conditions like diabetes, thyroid disorders, and certain cancers
- Reproductive health issues such as low sperm count, diminished ovarian reserve, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and blockages or damage to the reproductive tubes.
